Jesus is the way, the truth, the life
the only way to God is through Jesus
Jesus stepped out of the perfection of Heaven and came to the imperfection of earth to live amongst us, going through all the pain and suffering we go through and he did it because he loves you.
Jesus is not just a good person who said some nice things – he is the Son of God who came to us with one purpose – to save us from the sin that we have commited which separates us from God. He put himself in our place by being crucified on the cross, even though he had done no wrong.
The Bible tells us that whilst the Devil comes to ‘kill, steal and destroy. Jesus has come that we might have life and have it in all abundance’.
The good news is Jesus has made the way for your sins to be fogiven so you no longer have to live with that guilt and shame. You don’t have to pay the price for that sin because Jesus has paid it for you.
You might consider yourself to be a pretty good person. There might even be more good than bad in your life.
The problem is that anything we have ever done, said or even thought that goes against what God says is good is a sin.
The Bible tells us that we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s standards. As a result of this sin, we are all in need of salvation.
So, you might think yourself as a good perosn, but can you really say you are a good person in the eyes of God?
As a result of each of us doing things that are wrong, there is a gap between God and we all deserve to die because that is the punishment for sin.
Each of us has a choice to make – do we go God’s way or our own way?
Salvation is about choosing to accept that Jesus died for your sins, he paid the price for everything you have ever done that is wrong so that you can live.
It is about receiving the free gift of eternal life made possible only through the death and resurrection of Jesus.
When Jesus died on the cross he paid the price for every single sin you have ever commited. When he rose again, he broke th e power of death, opening the door to eternal life for everyone who chooses to accept Jesus as their Lord and saviour.
Now we can all enter into relationship with God and receive the Holy Spirit because esus has bridged the gap and opened the door.
